October 21, 2002: The Long Journey Down The I-5; From the Northwest to the Southern California

After miles of Washington and Oregon comes the long descent of I-5 into California. By the late afternoon's diffused light we watched a brilliant show of Mt. Shasta, its top lightly shrouded in clouds. Shasta was our portside companion for the hours and miles through the pines and volcanic rubble that make up the Northern California landscape.

That and a rather long progression of mile marker signs along the way!
