A ceili band is one that plays for Irish country dancing, and The Bog Wanderers are one of the best on the east coast of the US. Jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas, and slides are their mainstay with the added attraction of superb vocals by banjo-player, Betsy O'Malley. In addition to Betsy, the all-star ensemble includes Joe Dezarn (fiddle), Danny Flynn (accordions), longtime Falling Mountaineer Tabby Finch (piano, harp, hammered dulcimer) and Celtic Thunder veteran Jesse Winch (drums, bodhran, percussion, mandola, guitar and harmonica). Here's To You is their first recording and it captures the band's driving dance tunes along with a great collection of folk songs and ballads.

All of the members come from musical families based in various East Coast hotbeds of traditional music. New Jersey native Betsy O'Malley studied traditional singing and instrumental playing at the celebrated Willy Clancy Week in County. Clare. In addition to playing the tenor banjo, mandolin, mandola and tin whistle, Betsy is know for her heart-felt renditions of traditional songs from Ireland and America - many of which she learned from the great Dublin singer, Frank Harte. Fiddler Joe DeZarn's chief interest is traditional dance music, with a particular focus on Irish music, but also has an impressive repertoire of American fiddle tunes and traditional music from Quebec. His grandfather was a noted fiddler in his native Kentucky and his son Graham is a well-known fiddler who took top honors in the Mid-Atlantic fleadh ceoil. Jesse Winch played in his first ceili band in the late 1950s with the legendary Felix Dolan and went on to play in several Irish ceili and dance bands throughout the New York area. He is well regarded for his mastery of the bodhran ("a unique rhythmic authority" - The Washington Post) and other percussion - in particular ceili drums and the dumbek - but also plays the guitar, mandola and harmonica . Jesse helped establish the traditional music scene in the Washington area as a founding member of the internationally-acclaimed band Celtic Thunder, and has appeared on recordings by Jerry O'Sullivan, The Clancy Brothers and Robbie O'Connell, John McCutcheon, the Japanese composer Akira Satake with Johnny Cunningham and on the debut solo recording of flutist Linda Hickman. A native of Philadelphia, Danny Flynn has been performing Irish music on the accordion since age six and is well known for both his skill in performing traditional tunes and his ability to accompany Ceili and step dancers. He is a past member of the group Claddagh Folk, has twice won the Pennsylvania Accordion championship, and has represented North America in the World Irish Piano Accordion Championship in County Kerry, Ireland. Tabby Finch began playing the hammered dulcimer on an antique instrument that has been in her family since the 1840's. As a dance musician, Tabby revived and reinvented her piano playing, and includes accordion wizard Laurie Andres among the influences on her unique style. She also plays the Celtic harp, which she studied with Derek Bell, the noted harpist with The Chieftains.
