To artists seeking information about affiliation with Falling Mountain, thank you for your interest, and we hope you find the following information useful. Our label is and always will be centered around a handful of artists, rather than random and runaway growth. Our mission is to provide an identity and market presence for our artists, while the artists help promote the label and its reputation as a whole. This is how we do things at FMM; it truly is a collective effort. We identify what skills/resources different people bring to the table, we identify what needs to be done, then we get busy.

While not genre-specific, "Acoustic" music is the thread running through the roster. Within that spectrum can be found instrumental and vocal music, original and traditional music--a very wide representation (though not all inclusive by any means) of acoustic music. We add new artists based on a combination of musical integrity and quality, maturity and team skills, and the "synergy" between that artist and the label family.

When we do add new artists, we are generally looking for an artist who is actively and steadily touring at least in their region and preferably a sizeable percentage of North America, enjoying some name recognition in their chosen genre, using a viable business model to grow their fan base, and complements or deepens the stylistic spectrum of acoustic music we offer. While certainly not a criterion of itself, it seems that our roster is filled with artists who have a fairly broad musical and stylistic palette and who often interact with other label artists in the studio or on stage. In short, an artist who we can help grow further by their association with our label, while they can help the label grow in size and stature.

Our mission is to route traffic through the label website because that is most cost-effective for the label and the artists. We are always looking forward for creative, strategic and sometimes unusual business relationships that offer new markets for our music and our artists in cyberspace and in the "real world". What we don't do is this: chase down every brick and mortar retailer simply to have our product sit on shelves.

If you feel that this model has appeal for you and you might integrate well with our goals, you are welcome to email a brief introduction to us at info@fallingmountain.com . Please do not email us large graphics or sound files - send weblinks instead. Thanks for your interest, and best of luck in all of your musical endeavors.
