Here at Falling Mountain we are committed to bringing you the very finest acoustic music; that has been and always will be our first priority. But individually and collectively our role as artists is about a lot more than promoting and selling our music. All the members of the Falling Mountain family are active in giving back to their communities in many ways, donating their time and talent to various charities and causes. As the record label uniting these artists, we feel that we can and should do something collectively that could help further some of these causes more than we could individually. The success and impact of the Moving Mountains: Voices of Appalachia Rise Up Against Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining CD shows us what is possible when artists pooling their talents and resources partner with their fans and customers. So in July 2004 we began our new program called "Making Music Matter", dedicating $1 from each online CD sale to different non-profit organizations. And at no extra charge to you; all of our CD prices remain $13.99 at our secure online store as well as by mail and email orders. Our initial recipient was the environmental group Appalachian Voices in conjunction with the release of the Moving Mountains CD. Other recipients to date have included the Red Cross Hurricane relief effort and a local chapter of Habitat for Humanity here in the Shenandoah Valley. We begin 2006 with a local recipient here near home, Healthy Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, a private community-based collaborative working with first time families to support positive parenting through information, referral and home-visiting services. Family Support Workers are available to begin working with qualifying new parents before the child is born and will stay with the family until the child is ready to enter school. As always, we are grateful for your support in our musical endeavors. As you support our artists by purchasing their music, you join hands with us in making a difference in our community. At Falling Mountain, we believe in our responsibility to give something back. It is part of being your good neighbor as well as one of your preferred sources for great music. Questions or comments?
