To celebrate our 15th anniversary and to commemorate the
release of the new Making
Music Matter compilation CD, we joined together with the Every Day
Angels Foundation (EDAF) for two amazing Project Warmth
concerts this October to help our less fortunate neighbors stay warm
and fed
through the winter. The concept is simple: collect new and gently used coat and blanket donations as the "cost" of admission to an event and distribute them to those in need. We also collected non-perishable food items to help stock local food banks heading into the holiday season. Each year EDAF helps coordinate and promote Project Warmth concerts all across the U.S. in conjunction with National "Make-a-Difference" Day in October. Six Falling Mountain artists from Massachusetts to Ohio converged for concerts at Court Square Theater in Harrisonburg VA and the Arcola VA United Methodist Church, and the collaborations of voices and instruments both planned and spontaneous was nothing short of astonishing. The performers embraced the evenings through spirited songs and reflective instrumentals. The warmth of the music combined with generous and hearty helpings of blankets and coats gifted by the enthusiastic audiences filled all of us with hope and optimism. Though the last notes from those magical evenings have faded into the starry night, the good work and goodwill will continue through the rest of the year, as EDAF will be the recipient for our Making Music Matter program. Now your CD purchases here at the website will help this wonderful organization continue their good work all across the U.S.. And there may be more yet to share here, as there was good video shot at each concert that we hope to bring you soon. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy a handful of still photos from the shows here, and check back as the holidays near fo our newly redesigned website and a whole lot more multimedia memories of a wonderful October weekend.
